The first outing in the car with the kids was to the grocery store. Notable differences exist between Kroger (chosen just for example purposes) and the Spice Island IGA. First and foremost is the presence of armed security guards and police officers (formally dressed in their British inspired uniforms) who stand guard both in and out of the store. (I tried to take a picture but the officer frowned at me, so you'll just have to imagine). Second is the different varieties of fruit and vegetables located in the produce section. The kids found coconuts, breadfruit, and some other edibles we weren't sure how to eat or cook. (In case you are wondering, we stuck to what was normal and bought Ting and ice cream).
